Concrete conditioning for bodybuilders

A bodybuilding contest is the most challenging thing you will ever (willingly) put yourself through. Especially, if your goal is unbeatable concrete conditioning like mine. This type of conditioning is something I pride myself on being able to achieve time and time again.

The physical and mental strain felt during preparation makes this look extremely difficult to achieve. Not many people are able, let alone willing to take their physique and their mind to that level of discomfort.

After all, being competition lean doesn’t feel that great, and at times the mental battle is much harder than every anticipated.

Discipline and mental preparation

Discipline is required to achieve concrete conditioning. To reach your goal, you need to enforced rules upon yourself daily, ensuring your training and nutrition is consistent. You cannot deviate from the plan, ever! The stress and pressure to uphold these rules can impact on your social and emotional well-being. Your normal state of mind is challenged at every moment of the day. It is easy to take for granted just how hard it is when you’re in the midst of your off-season. Failing to prepare mentally long before you commence your competition preparation is the key. I start prepping mentally long before I start prepping physically.

You will be put to the test daily, be ready.

The secrets to extreme level of body conditioning

It may sound cliché, but I’m often asked what my secret is to achieving my extreme level of body conditioning.

For me it’s very simple: Real self-talk and I never quit.  I put in the work until I’m ready. I never stop. If I don’t see results, or, if I’m not progressing I simply go harder.

My Five mantras for concrete body building conditioning

  • There are no shortcuts
  • Keep it simple
